Congregation and synod responses and resolutions to "Journey Together Faithfully" Parts 1 and 2 2002-2005

This series comprises records related to the response synods, congregations, and individual ELCA members had to various aspects of the work related to the ELCA's development of a social statement on human sexuality. These records are dated 2002-2005 and include synod assembly resolutions responding to the first and second parts of the social statement development process: Journey Together Faithfully, parts one and two. There are also synod assembly resolutions responding to the recommendations of the Task Force for ELCA Studies on Sexuality released in 2005 pertaining to the rostering of individuals in committed same-sex relationships and also the blessing of same-sex unions. There are folders of correspondence and resolutions from congregations and individual ELCA members that address general topics of the social statement or the process of developing the social statement. This series should not be confused with other series in this subgroup that comprise responses returned by ELCA members who participated in studies and discussions of the study guides related to the sexuality study which included questionnaire response forms to be completed and returned to the task force.
